  2. This is an architectural gem - a stylish oval that is shapely and artistic. Our view is as quiet as a museum - until the express Metro train barrels through :)

  3. What an architectural gem - the oval shape and parallel tracks into the distance, this is functional and artistic scene. It seems a quiet as a museum - until the express train barrels through :)

  7. I know you must have been standing up above, but the angle of the first shot looks like you are on the tracks. Fantastic leading lines.

  10. What a beautiful train station! I just returned from a two week vacation in Spain and am in love with train travel. I feel like moving to Europe and exploring the entire continent by rail. The stations, modern or antique, were all amazing!

  21. I just came back from Sevilla, Spain. I have seen ceilings like that in the Alcazar. An old palace. Funny how these themes never change. Groetjes Hetty

  33. One of my favorite shots from our London trip is the ceiling of the train station. Beautiful.

  34. Well, that looks familiar! I used to ride the DC Metro frequently. I couldn't find any clue to where you took this until I enlarged the photo. I didn't catch the train in Pentagon City but I did in Crystal City, Rosslyn, and several places downtown. Then they opened the Braddock Road Station and King Street and I used them, but they weren't underground like this one.

  35. Great shots Sue, incredible that's a working train station when it looks like art! Shame modern-day building is losing so much of that beauty in favour of function ...
